What are we studying?

  • Homework: Week of May 20th - Our Student Led Conferences will be May 22nd at 8:30 am. Please let me know if an adult cannot be here for your child so I can make sure to have another adult from our building available. We will decorate our BLUE shirts on Friday for Third Grade Field Games on Tuesday (last day of school). Look for ice cream permission slip in Tuesday folders.
  • Writing- We are busy choosing pieces for our showcase portfolios and reflecting on our growth in third grade.
  • Reading - Mrs. Forseth is giving us free time to do extended reading into one of the genres we have studied in depth this year.
  • MATH- We've mastered Third Grade content, so Mrs. Forseth is giving us a peek into what we will learn next year in fourth grade!

Hey! It's MG

Today we found exploding moments in a book that we are reading.  Exploding moments are when the author takes a moment and uses details to describe it so we have a movie in our minds.  One person said it is like taking the moment apart like a puzzle and describing each part.  In social studies AL gave us an article to read about the northwest and southwest native americans and we had to compare and contrast them. Tomorrow we are going to learn about the great plains and the eastern woodlands native americans. Do you like your new job?

New unit S.S

This week we have started a new unit in S.S. We are talking about Thanksgiving, pilgrims and Native Americans. We have watched a video that gives a tour of the  Mayflower. We also learned that the pilgrims and Native Americans did not celebrate again the next year. I wonder why the pilgrims wanted to become friends with the Native Americans? Do you have any questions about Thanksgiving or the pilgrims and Native Americans?
