This week
We have had an amazing week so far.We are doing math stations in math. Also,we are working on our poems. We have pruned our poems. We have added personification, metaphors, imagery, and we made up a poetic device called an imilie. It is a simlie with some imagery in the same sentence.People are so excited for this Thursday because...we are going on our field trip to Gattiland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Also,we came into school today and we saw baby chicks. There were 3 of them. One wasn"t so strong,so he is under a heat lamp to get him stronger. One is still pipping.Pipping is when an egg is ready to come out and it starts to crack. Look at the chicks we have.

An awesome week so far!
It's only Monday, but we have had an awesome week so far. A lot of us are very excited for so many reasons. One reason is that today some of the catterpillars hatched and turned in to butterflies and we have 4 of them. Some people remembered that if we saw a little red and orange splats on the bottom of the cage, that it was just ink coming from the wings. Another reason is that we have 8 people that have their black belts for our recorder in music. So far we are getting the ice cream party and movie. Tomorrow we are skyping someone that is an expert on wind energy. We have alot of exciting things so far this week!

Caterpillars are changing!!!
When our painted lady caterpillars first arrived March 21st, they were only 1 cm long. Look how long they were April 3rd! They tripled their length in only 2 weeks!
Look what they've started doing today, April 5th!
PUPATING!
When we return to school on Monday, it will be time to transfer these CHRYSALIDES to the Butterfly Pavillion! In about 7 days, we will see them begin to emerge as butterflies! Hopefully it will happen while we are at school. Won't that be amazing?

We met our Interim Principal today!
We met Ms. Barnard today. She seems very nice and told us that there are two things we should know about her. The first thing we should remember is that she wants us to follow the same rules. If there is a rule, she thinks everyone should follow it. The second thing she told us is that she is against bullying. She says there will be zero tolerance for bullying while she is at Centerfield. What do you think about these two things?

Louisville's average is 7.8 for the year. The higher you go, the stronger the wind. Today we learned about fractions. We have fraction homework.

Hey! It's MG
Today we found exploding moments in a book that we are reading. Exploding moments are when the author takes a moment and uses details to describe it so we have a movie in our minds. One person said it is like taking the moment apart like a puzzle and describing each part. In social studies AL gave us an article to read about the northwest and southwest native americans and we had to compare and contrast them. Tomorrow we are going to learn about the great plains and the eastern woodlands native americans. Do you like your new job?

New unit S.S
This week we have started a new unit in S.S. We are talking about Thanksgiving, pilgrims and Native Americans. We have watched a video that gives a tour of the Mayflower. We also learned that the pilgrims and Native Americans did not celebrate again the next year. I wonder why the pilgrims wanted to become friends with the Native Americans? Do you have any questions about Thanksgiving or the pilgrims and Native Americans?

Wooly Worms
EG brought a Wooly Worm in today. The Wooly Worm was mostly brown with black rings on the ends. There is a legend that says you can tell how harsh a winter you are going to have depending on the width of the brown band in the middle. What other weather legends do you know? M
